The El Modena Counseling staff will continue to provide comprehensive support for students in all areas (social-emotional, academic, college and career) while we continue distance learning. We understand that this may be a stressful time for students and will be available to assist. Please email your assigned counselor if you need support. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response, with the exception of weekends.

 9/25-9/26  – Senior Classroom Presentations via English 12 classes

o Counselors will be presenting important college & financial aid information.

o Seniors will be completing a Career Assessment

▪ 10/2 – Senior Parent Night, 6pm in the library

o Counselors will be presenting important college & financial aid information.

▪ 10/4 – College Application Day, 8:30am-12:15pm on campus

o Sessions include UC’s, Cal. States, Common App., SCC & FAFSA. Seniors will have the opportunity to attend 3 sessions.

 10/5 – FAFSA/Cash for College Workshop, 9am-12pm in the library

▪ 10/16  - PSAT/SAT Day on campus, all 9th-12th graders will test

▪ 10/23 – Freshmen Parent Night, 6pm in the library

o Counselors will be presenting important information for freshmen parents, including 4-year planning and college admissions requirements.

▪ 10/24 – 10/25 Freshmen Classroom Presentations & 4-Year Planning via English 9 classes

o Counselors will be presenting important information for freshmen and leading them in creating their 4-Year Plan.

▪ 11/30 – Cal State & UC Application Deadline

▪ 12/5-12/6 Sophomore Classroom Presentations via English 10 classes

o Counselors will present important information for sophomores 

 1/22 – Sophomore & Junior Parent Night 5pm in the library (before Showcase)

o Counselors will present important information for parents of sophomores & juniors including a PSAT scores review. 

▪ 1/29-1/30 Junior Classroom Presentations via English 11 classes

o Counselors will present important college and career information for juniors

o Juniors will participate in a college search process & begin the process of creating a college list. 

▪ 2/20-2/21 Incoming 12th Grade Classroom Visits/Registration Information via US History classes

o Students will update their 4-year plan

▪ 2/24-2/26 Incoming 12th Graders Meet Individually with Counselors via US History classes 

o Students will meet with their counselor to review their transcript, their post high school plans & register for the 2020-21 school year.

▪ 2/27-2/28 Incoming 11th Grade Classroom Visits/Registration Information via World History classes

o Students will update their 4-year plan

▪ 3/2-3/6 Incoming 9th Grade Registration 

o Counselors visit Santiago & McPherson Middle Schools

▪ 3/9-3/11 Incoming 11th Graders Meet Individually with Counselors via World History classes

o Students will meet with their counselor to review their transcript, their post high school plans & register for the 2020-21 school year.

▪ 3/12-3/13 Incoming 10th Grade Classroom Visits/Registration Information via Biology classes

o Students will update their 4-year plan

▪ 3/16-3/18 Incoming 10th Graders Meet Individually with Counselors via Biology classes 

o Students will meet with their counselor to review their transcript, their post high school plans & register for the 2020-21 school year.
