Important Information about Work Permits
During this time work permits will be handled a little differently since the the school is closed.
The link to access the work permit request form is listed below for you to print out the work permit request.
Once you complete this, your new employer completes their section and signs off, and your parents sign off, you will need to email your work permit form or schedule an appointment to bring it to campus. If submitting via email, it may take up to two business days to process.

Before submitting your work permit please be sure all of the sections are completed including:
Name, address, phone number, social security number, school information, parent signature and date, employer signature, address, phone number. Missing information will delay the process. 2.0 GPA or higher required to be eligible.
Once ALL sections of the work permit request form are completed email Mrs. McClenaghan, Career Guidance or schedule an appointment to come to campus. (Scanning the work permit is preferred, if you do not have a scanner, you can take a photo with your phone and email. Make sure all information can be seen clearly. )

Permits issued during the 2019-2020 school year expire on August 28, 2020. You will need to request a new permit for the 2020-2021 school year. Follow the instructions noted above.
What is a work permit?
A work permit is a legal document required by the state that allows a person between the ages of 14 and 17 to hold a job. The purpose of the work permit is to protect the student from illegal working conditions and to keep the student in school.
How do I get a work permit?
You must have a job or job offer to get a work permit, a minimum 2.0 GPA or higher, and satisfactory attendance. The contact person during the school year is Mrs. McClenaghan email@example.com. Do I need a work permit for babysitting, yard work or a paper route? No.
How often do I need to get a work permit?
Each time you are hired for a new job, a new work permit is necessary. Work permits are issued for the specific employer you work for. All work permits expire after school starts in August, even if you have the same job.
How many hours can I work?
16 and 17 Year Old Students may work four hours on school days and eight hours on non-school days or days preceding a non-school day.
14 and 15 Year Old Students may work three hours per day, not to exceed 18 hours per week while school is in session. 8 hours per day when school is not in session, not to exceed 40 hours per week.
